If you are interested in what we do and would like to get involved, there are several ways you can help:

1Law Centre Volunteer

Volunteer staff play an important role in the Law Centre’s Reception, by helping with administration and on our Helpdesk. This involves dealing with calls from clients or other agencies and signposting new enquiries to appropriate services where we aren’t able to help ourselves.

2Pro bono lawyer

We have a small team of experienced legal executives, solicitors and barristers, who come to us in their spare time, to help clients who might not otherwise get the advice they need. They offer general legal guidance or employee rights advice at one of our three pro bono clinics.

3Become a Member

As a Member you can contribute by ensuring that the Law Centre is accountable and well governed. You can contribute to shaping our plans for future work and development of services. As a member you can agree to be nominated for election by fellow members to join the Law Centre’s Management Committee where you can take that role further.

4Election to the Management Committee

The Management Committee is elected by the membership from our membership at the Law Centre’s Annual General Meeting. Between elections at the AGM the existing Management Committee can co-opt additional Committee Members to add to the skills and experience within the Committee.

The Law Centre is regulated by the Law Centres Federation. The solicitors employed by it are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. We are also regulated by the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner in the provision of legal advice regarding immigration and asylum law.
