Can you help with Debt Problems or with Welfare Benefits?

We are unable to assist with debt problems that aren’t directly related to a housing law issue e.g. your landlord has brought a claim against you for possession of your home because you are in rent arrears.

We have legal aid funding for a very small number of cases in debt or welfare benefits advice that we prioritise towards existing clients who have these type of problem during an ongoing case with us.

The nearest specialist legal help in for Debt and Welfare Benefits problems is Bury District CAB on 0845 120 3757 for face-to-face advice on debt matters as they have a debt specialist based there. The Citizen’s Advice Bureau holds drop-in sessions every Monday and Tuesday between 10am and 3pm.

Alternatively call us and a Help-desk volunteer will refer you to another face-to-face or telephone debt advice service.
